The long road home, part 1

So, I'm heading back to Albuquirky after three (amazing) weeks away. I started with a weekend at home in NYC, packing up all my belongings and some fun times with LKM (photos and post to come). Then spent 17 perfect days in Germany (lots more posting on that soon). But now, sadly, I am headed back to the Q for two more months before a final move to LaLa land. It's going to take me a full day, count 'em, 24 hours to get back to the Land of Enchanment (I am now out of nicknames for NM) and thought I'd take you with me. So, here I am, sad to leave but very happy to be upgraded to first unexpectedly. I'm in the Sky Lounge now before enjoying a nice flight back to JFK. See you in a few hours!

Last night in Germany...in my cool new Munich hat. I needed in front of the roaring fire.

Delta Sky Lounge. I'm thinking that a trip that starts out so well can only mean smooth sailing for the rest of the day (fingers crossed).

A G-Rated Christmas Eve

G as in German and G as is Great (awesome actually). Started out with a nice run through the country with Dad followed by a brunch of pancakes (check out the personalized flapjack), bacon and mimosas. Next up Christmas Vacation, sausage rolls and more mimosas. Chili and football coming up later. Ah, perfect day with Dad and S.

Good tunes

This post is for Dad/Rowdy. I hope you like these songs.

wolfmother "woman"
the knife "heartbeats"
just listen...best song in a very long time (30 seconds to mars "close to the edge")
best f-ing video (30 seconds to mars "the kill")
The virgins "Rich girls"
Stone Sour "Through the Glass"
ok, this one is a little electronic but oh.so.GOOD The presets "are you the one?"
a heart can smile if it's filled with tears Phoenix "Holdin' on together"
this one is kind of an oldie but a REALLY goodie (the real song is way better than this perfomance)
MGMT "time to pretend"

Funny in any language...

I'm laughing in English, German, french, Portuguese, Spanish, American (S, that's for you), Swedish and any other language there is. Michael Buble is just dead funny any way you say it.

Schöne Nacht

Ich liebe Deutschland. Spending the holiday in Germany with Dad and S. It is possibly the most beautiful and festive place to be for Christmas. Lots of gluhwein, beer, rotwurst and of course, Christmas markets (photos to come). But one of my most favorite things about being here are the COZY evenings in Weilerbach spent in front of a Rowdy fire, watching movies, wearing warm and fuzzy pjs, advent calendar-ing (coolest calendar ever...it's beer!), drinking wine, eating way too much amazing food and just being with Dad and S. Wish Meg and W could be here too. Although there might not enough room on the couch!

Song of the Day

I'm in a Rolling Stones mood today. I just want to rock, roll and have a good time. In about 48 hours, I will be doing exactly that in NYC, followed by 17 DAYS IN GERMANY!

And while I'm in this rocker state of mind, I am dreaming of owning this T.

Thanksgiving Threads

If I could be wearing any outfit tomorrow to celebrate Turkey Day it would be this...

Flowy, lots of room to hide stuffing and pumpkin pie yet chic. In reality, I will probably be in my favorite sweatpants, old t-shirt and uggs.

Unleashed

This video is beyond adorable. Not only are the puppies cuter than cute but I love them tearing through one of my favorite places on earth. Although I think Zigs, Nova, Windsor-girl and Duffers could have been the mischievous stars.

Thankful

I wanted to repost this from Rowdy's website, Fighter Pilot University, so we all remember the men and women (especially Dad and S) who make it possible for us all to enjoy a peaceful and free Thanksgiving.

flag_fighter_pilot.jpg
As we all join around the table and give thanks with our families, please pray for our patriots spending the holidays protecting our freedom. Also remember all our military families who sacrafice more than we can imagine, in many ways they have the hardest job of all.  Thanks to all those who have served past, present, and future.  This Toby Keith video says it best.

Happy Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! I wish I could enjoy some turkey, stuffing, S's asparagus casserole and bubbly with all of you! Here are just a few of the things I am thankful for this year.

My gorgeous, sweet, fun sister, Meg
My wonderfully generous and loving Mom
My super supportive (and silly) KB
My very funny, caring and giving Dad (Rowdy) and S
My Lovely Grandma
My partner in crime, the other half of the LKMKKW show, my sweet pea, LKM
My Lady (enough said)
My Heart, Zigman
My crazy love, Jimmy B
No one makes me laugh more, Hot Stuff

 Champagne to celebrate

And an open road to run, run, run

Life is good. XOXO

Chills

This is a video I took from the starting line of the NYC marathon. I wish I would have gotten the entire song but I still think it's pretty amazing to see the thousands of runners honoring and cheering for the USA.

26 miles ain't nothing but a Sunday run...

Whew, the NYC marathon is over and I'm a happy girl. It was a gorgeous day and after a 3 hour and 29 minute run, I had a great afternoon and celebratory dinner with LKM, Janel and my Lady.

Running to pick up my #...
 on the West Side Highway.
Checking out the finish line the day before the race
Early morning for runners in Staten Island at the start

staying warm and getting ready to run!
lining up at the starting line
a fellow runner offered to take my pic, seconds away from 9:40am start time
LKM had fun with chalk while waiting at the bar for me to finish
No one else had a personilized sidewalk

LKM is the best!
Finished, check. Medal, check.
Champagne, check!
And some Patsy's Pizza from Miss Janel!
Gorgeous Tuesday morning after the marathon in Central Park
Getting back at it, sore legs, but ready to run again in NYC
