Back in the NY groove

I landed in NYC last night. So happy to be home and even more excited to finish the 9/11 Special I'm working on. It is the most beautiful summer day and I could not be more content...working and just being here.

Some of you may know about my drunken purchase of 28 snuggies a couple years back. Others of you may be aware of my unbelievable fondness for sweatpants. I would live in both all day, every day if I could. So, when Hot Stuff, introduced me to the THUGGIE, it was like the skies opened up and heaven delivered. It's like a perfect sweats/snuggie/mumu hybrid. I want. I need.

I am spending most of December in Germany with dad, Rowdy, and S and I am SO excited! I can't wait to have this breakfast wtih them. I want it now. Right now.

It's a guilty pleasure and I love it. The Bachelor. The Bachelorette. Bachelor Pad. All of them. Horrible and amazing.

But I have never been looking forward to a season more. I am so excited that winemaker, Ben F., is going to be the next bachelor and seriously think I need to be on the show.

I'm used to running in NYC. I dodge taxi cabs, homeless people and squirrels in the park. But on Saturday, as I ran on a trail in Albuquirky and when I looked to my left, this guy was running right next me. On Sunday, I found some other new running buddies but I didn't have my camera so you're going to have to wait to find out who they are until next week. I'm sure the suspense is killing you.

I'M HUNGRY

It's lunchtime here in the Q but after seeing recipe for Cake Batter Cinnamon Rolls , the only thing I can think about eating is this perfect, sugary, sprinkled treat. OMG. Cake batter and cinnamon rolls. LKM, I think we need to have these at our next pre-game pre-game.

I woke up this morning still dreaming...of being in one special place. And that's MN. That's right flip that NM (where I am now) around and let me be having coffee and breakfast in my Grandma's kitchen, then a nice, LONG day of swimming and relaxing at the lake, followed by a huge barbeque and bonfire with family. That would make me so happy. And this song reminds me of all those summers in Minnesota. Makes me want to be 17 again. Just for the day.

Sweet Surprise

This is what I found in my desk drawer upon returning to the Q. My good/bad friend, M, just got back from London and brought these for me. Yum. And these are adding to my downward spiral of horrible eating that began in NYC. My diet now consists of only sugar, pizza and fried foods.

I'm Back

Up and running, that is. Not back in Albuquirky. I've had technical difficulties since I've been here and my blogs wouldn't post. To be honest, if Ziggy weren't there, I might just stow away in LKM's apartment and never, ever leave NYC again (well, except for vacations of course). I've had an amazing time work-wise and socially. It was definitely what I needed. So I just wanted to say hi from NYC. It's the most gorgeous summer day here and I wish you could all be here with me to have some fun in the city.

On Thursday, my crew and I took a tour of the WTC Memorial. It is still under construction but you can see the beauty of what will be a place for families, survivors and the world to come and remember those who lost their lives on September 11, 2001. It's hard to remember what life was like before that day and even tougher to believe that it's already been ten years.

Ahhhh...

I've been in NY for 36 hoursnow and am beyond happy. Gone for two runs on the river, went for wine with Janel, had an undercover drug cop take us for pastries at 1:30am, interviewed Harvey Weinstein, had champagne with my sugah, ate sushi in the seaport, shot the WTC Memorial...and never want to go back to the Q. So happy to be home.

Crystal Meth and Albuquirky

No, that's the top story on the news tonight in the Q. It's how I spent my weekend. Watching Seasons 1 & 2 of "Breaking Bad." My brother, Dabber, has been telling me for months, ok, that it is the best show on television. I was very skeptical. It seemed too dark. But when I started working on the same studio lot where Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul shoot, I decided to give it a shot. It is brilliant! You have to check it out. I am planning on a Season 3 marathon very soon. And Season 4 just started on AMC. So, bro, I can't believe I'm saying this but...I should have listened to you.

At this time tomorrow, I will be on a plane on my way home, to NYC. I'm shooting a special there for 10 days and I CANNOT WAIT to touch down in the Greatest city in the world!

I know I said I was taking a breather from one of my favorite friends, Vino, until the marathon but I decided that after a great 14 mile run this morning, I would have a treat. I picked this up at Whole Foods because the "wine expert" told me too. And I'm giving it two thumbs up. Seriously, give it a try.

Albuquirky just got a little bit cooler, in my book. I discovered a very good/bad thing here- Taco Bueno. I used to love going to this fine dining establishment in Dallas with Meg. And now Jenn Noble and I have one more bad habit to add to our time here in the Q.
